How many EFTPOS transactions and $ volumes get processed?

In 2011, EFTPOS transactions made up about 80 percent of all debt card transactions in Australia. In 2010, the total average monthly EFTPOS transactions was more than 183 million in Australia at more than 707,000 terminals and more than 28,000 ATMs. The 2010 transactions per month averaged at $12 billion.

By 2011, there were more than 2 billion Australian EFTPOS transactions valued at about $131 billion. These transactions occurred at some 325,000 merchants using more than 750,000 terminals.
